Mt Adams Horse Camp information:

$5 per night per site (remember Golden Pass or Senior Pass holders) it's1/2 price!

Elevation 2500 ft.

This facility was completed by the Forest Service and BCHW Club volunteers.

Mt Adams BCH Chapter committed to and volunteered 1000 hrs of labor toward construction of the Camp.

Mt Adams Horse Camp is located five miles North of Trout Lake on FR 80-031.

There are 12 campsites (two of which are group sites able to accommodate larger or multiple rigs).

Each has a picnic table, fire ring and high-lines.

All campsites have high - lines to accommodate 4 horses.

The camp has a vault toilet and mounting assist / stock unloading ramp and manure bins.

A 40 acre large grassy meadow also available unlimited rig parking.....

The nearby trails have been extended and connected to form a system of trail loops totaling over 50 miles!

The PCT #2000 can be accessed via "Around the Mountain Trail" (weather permitting).

The wooded trails are generally easy terrain with views of Mt Adams.

There are several sturdy bridges to cross over creeks.

Trails are well marked to show you points of interest like Big Tree, Cow Camp, Cold Springs Shelter, Morrison Creek Shelter and the Wicky Creek Shelter.

Some maps are available at the reader board at the camp.

A stock water trough (not for human use) is located in large the grassy meadow .

 

Additional Information:

Each year The Mt Adams Endurance Club holds their annual Endurance Ride at Mt Adams Camp..

In 2003 "The Pan American Endurance Championships" were held here and on June 19,the "40th Anniversary World Ride & Tie Championships" were held here with over 90 horses!

In early Springthe Mt Adams Endurance Clubvolunteers from BCHW Mt Adams Chapter helpthe trailsfor upcoming events.

It's been seen alongtrails thatfewthe Endurance Clubthis year, while working on trail maintenance,'t too tired and (having a sense of humor)the initials /names in the downed trees they removed.

 

 

Directions to Mount Adams Horse Camp:

From White Salmon, drive  North on Highway 141 to Trout Lake .

Bear Right at the service Station  and continue north to the next Y.

Bear Right (don’t take Randle Road).

Continue for a 1/2 mile and turn Left onto the 80 Road,  (South Climb).

Continue up hill, cross the steel cattle guard, and go 1/2 mile to the road to Buck Creek Trail and The Mount Adams Horse Camp.

After 1/2 mile, bear right at the Y and you are there!
